Using Psychics in Investigations

(Read about our psychics Joyce Morgan & Misty Maeder below)

Finding a true psychic to work with on ghost investigations can be a real asset to the quality of your investigations. They can add insight into the cause of a haunting, give identities to the entities present and offer your client closure if they desire.  Psychics that have true ability, can often draw the spirits/ghosts to them, which give you the opportunity to capture better photos and orbs on video.

The most difficult task in working with a psychic is finding one that truly has the ability to communicate with the other side.  MPR has been very blessed in finding a psychic who is genuine and who also shares an interest in the paranormal.  Since inviting her to join our team, we feel that we are able to capture more evidence during our investigations and receive a much deeper insight to what it's like on the other side.

When selecting a psychic to work with your team, you should first check their credentials and background.  There are many people who claim to be psychics who actually have little or no natural abilities.  By doing historical research, you can often verify psychic readings, but a psychic should never ask for any details prior to giving a reading.  Many self-made psychics are very good at pumping you for information without you even being aware of what they are doing.  A true psychic will not want any details beforehand.  We are very careful not to disclose our client's name or address before the actual night of the investigation, other than revealing the name of the town in which we'll be working.  Most of the time, we'll meet at a different location and have her follow us to the home or business in question.  We record and/or video the reading and follow up by doing the historical research to help validate her claims.  We never expect to be able to validate 100% of her claims, as some information cannot be found, or the names and/or dates vary a little bit.  We look for similarities, close calls and actual facts.  Sometimes she'll begin her readings by telling the families about deceased ancestors, giving names and descriptions with great accuracy.  This helps build the confidence of our clients and puts them at ease.

Another way to validate the ability of your psychic is to watch for improvements in the evidence that you are collecting.  We often have our psychic carry a tape recorder, not only to record the readings, but also to capture EVPs.  We have seen a great increase in the number of EVP recordings and have even picked up some of the voices of the ghosts or spirits while they are communicating with her.  We have noticed an increase in the number of orbs in our photographs, most of them swarming around her waiting for their chance to speak.  MPR has begun to film our psychic with an infrared video camera while she is giving her readings, capturing numerous orbs on video.  Interestingly, these orbs will zoom past her just prior to her revealing some sort of information about who is present or a past event.  This is probably one of the most concrete forms of evidence that we have been able to capture so far.

Sometimes our clients are uncomfortable with having ghosts or spirits in their homes or simply want to help them cross to the other side.  Upon their request, our psychic will perform a clearing and blessing of the home.  This is a Christian ceremony and is always performed in front of or with the client's participation.  By being able to offer this service, we are able to give our clients closure.  So far, these clearings have been 100% successful, as we have had no reports of additional activity in any of the homes where the clearings have been performed.  We have even filmed orbs entering into the clearing circle during the ceremony.

Our psychic has offered so much by sharing her knowledge with us. She helps to explain things that we may not understand or helps to analyze a photograph that is unusual.  We have found that she is a great asset to our team and our investigations, and feel very privileged in having the opportunity to include her as a member of MPR.  We highly recommend the use of psychics so long as they are credible in their field.  Although the information they provide may not be able to be used as scientific data, they an certainly create the atmosphere for improving the evidence collected.

NOTE:  On a further note, we have had the opportunity to work with another credible psychic on a few investigations, in conjunction with our team psychic.  They have worked together on occasion over the past several years.  Both psychics come from different backgrounds, as one is of Native American descent, and seem to not only validate each other on occasion, but also offer different readings that have both been validated with historical research.  We hope to be fortunate enough to add her to the MPR team as well in the near future.
