We loved you with all our hearts and we'll miss your smile, your humor and most of all your devoted friendship!!!!!

Joe was born on November 8, 1961 in Glendale, CA.  He attended Burbank High School and continued his education in the Air Force where he received an Associates Degree in Business Management and a Bachelors Degree in TeleCommunications Systems.  He served in communications in the United States Air Force and was stationed six years in Germany and at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, NE.  Joe and his wife Stacy have owned and operated their own video production business for 10 years.

Joe was a 2nd degree black belt in Tae-Kwan-Do and was an Air Force Back Up for the 1988 Olympics.  He was an official stand-up comedian at the Funny Bone Theater in Omaha, NE in 1987-88 and took 3rd place in the 1990 Corn Husker Comedian Competition.

MPR had the pleasure of meeting Joe and Stacy Pate in Villisca, IA during the documentary filming of the Villisca Ax Murder House.  From the moment we met Joe and Stacy, an immediate bond developed and grew into a life-long connection and close friendship.  Joe always had a video camera in his hand, cracking jokes and making his funny faces that had us rolling over with laughter.  There was never a moment when Joe was around that our stomachs didn’t ache or our eyes didn’t water from laughter.

Joe has been member of Miller's Paranormal Research for 6 years, attending numerous investigations, always with a video camera in hand. His contributions, fun and loving nature that he added to the team will be greatly missed.

Until we meet again, dear friend.......
