Brief Property Description: 2-story brick historic building located in town square. Building consists of a large, partially finished room on the top floor, the restaurant on the ground floor and a basement that had been segregated into two separate rooms by a rock wall. The restaurant area consists of the main dining room, the kitchen, a back dining room and an office. |

Community History: Although this building was located in one of the historic districts of Caldwell County, no information could be found concerning past businesses or when the building was built. Estimation is that the building was built during the late 1870's or early 1880's. |

Current Owner Reportings: + The cook reported having a conversation with a little girl. She said that a man was working on an electrical box in the back room and a little girl was standing there talking to her. She turned around to tell the owner that someone was in the back room only to find the room empty when she turned back around. To the owners knowledge, there has never been an electrical box in that location. A former owner told him that a man had once been electrocuted in the building. + On several occasions, employees and owner have felt like someone was watching them. + The owner had heard his name called when no one else was present in the building. + The restroom lights go off by themselves. Often times this occurs when the restroom is in use. + The owners mother saw an apparition of a little girl once when the lights went out on her while in the bathroom. + Employees witness the door to the office open and shut one evening. This happened about four times in a row. This was followed by what sounded like a conversation occurring in the back room. + Some conversation that has been heard as been, "Sit still", and "Come on, hurry up, we gotta go, hurry." + Employees have heard whistling and footsteps in the hallway. They have also heard what sounded like an old time radio playing. + The owner saw a shadowy figure pass by the window after closing up the restaurant. + The owner witnessed a man walk up the hallway, enter the kitchen, then disappear. + Owner has found the grill found turned on after the restaurant was closed after the owner had double checked that it was off several times before locking up. + The freezer has found turned off without any explanation. The coffee makers have also been turned off. + Several things have been found in different locations when the owner returned the next morning. Dirty dishes have been found left in the bus tubs the next morning after all the washing duties were completed the night before. |

Reported Findings and Experiences: + An EVP was recorded in the back dining room while Joyce was communicating with a hobo ghost. During the conversation between Joyce and the ghost, he indicated that there were more ghosts in the building. An EVP was recorded at this time of a male voice saying "I'll Find Them". Joyce then responds to this comment by telling him that we'll talk to them and find them. The male voice was amplified in order to hear it more clearly. + Upon arrival at the restaurant, Kathy indicated that she thought she saw a man looking out of the upstairs window. While taking photographs upstairs, a single orb was photographed numerous times hanging around this same upstairs window. An EVP was recorded upstairs when no one was present of a female voice who sounded like she was humming. + 12 orbs were captured on video in the back dining room. Nine of those orbs were filmed during Joyce's reading. |

JOYCE + There is a little girl here who says she is 6 years old. Her name is Amanda. She has long brown hair which she wears pulled back and tied with a ribbon. Her hair is pulled straight back, there is no part. She died of pneumonia while her family was staying here with the people who owned the store at the time. There last name as something like Dunker or Dunkard. She said the doctor was with her most of that day and that she was very cold. She died in the back room. She is the one who shuts the lights off in the bathrooms. + Somebody had a heart attack and died back here by the bathrooms. He gives his name as Joe. This was in the early 1900's. + I hear music from the 1940's or 1950's. There used to be some kind of skating rink either near here or out back. + There is another man here. He's about 5'8" and is very, very thin. He wears a worn old brown hat, a black jacket, has an unkempt beard and facial hair, old britches and has on high top black boots. His hair is wild looking. He's from the early 1900's, either 1901 or 1902. He tells me that he is a hobo and that he used to work for the railroad as a lightman. He shows me a lantern that he swung back and forth in order to signal the trains. He was heading west when he decided to settle here and lived in an old shack very near here. He came to this building because he got very cold and this is where he died. He tell me that there are 5 of them here. Amanda, himself, the man who died of a heart attack, someone named Dan and a woman named Sally. An EVP was recorded during this conversation of a male voice telling Joyce "I'll Find Them." + Someone just walked up to be and said their name was Toby. + In the basement is a female spirit named Gladys. He last name sounds like Spidle or Spidell. She used to work in either a beauty salon or a barber shop that was located in the basement. She died of something that had to do with her belly. Either stomach cancer or a tumor of some kind. + During the clearing, a spirit hit Joyce on the back and said, "My name is Rose." |

KATHY + Upon arrival, Kathy commented that she saw someone looking out of the 2nd story window. Numerous photos taken on the 2nd floor show an orb hanging out by the windows that face the street. + Was met by a ghost named Jack who showed her where a staircase had once led to the upstairs. Current owner confirmed that a stairway had once been located there but was removed during remodeling. + Jack showed her a gold pocket watch that was attached to his pants at the belt loop. It had Roman numerals and he showed her the time of 7:30. + He showed her where his bed was located upstairs. + He liked looking out the windows, watching the street and people below. Life was different for him here. He didn't understand so he became a loner. + He has family, a younger sister he is concerned about, but he hasn't seen then for a long time. There was a falling out with the family and his sister was not allowed to talk about him. She could talk about him privately to her mother but they could not let the father hear. + Jack was a young man who wore a blue chambray shirt and blue jeans. He was thin with dark hair and a very thin face. + He worries about his sister. He misses her and wonders how she is doing. Her name was Marsha or something like that. + He is very lonely. |
