Brief Home and Property Description: 3 bedroom ranch home about 20 yrs. old, current owners have lived there a little over 1 ½ years |
|
Community History: The community was first settled in the late 1830’s and early 1840’s. The first land record on file for this particular location occurred in 1844. The land changed ownership several times between the 1840’s and 1860’s but was pretty well settled by one particular family by the 1860’s. During this time period, the community was involved in the Border War between Kansas and Missouri and during the Civil War, a battle was fought within a mile of the location. The property would have been effected by Order #11. When the community was rebuilding after the war, this particular rural location would have seen many travelers pass by as they made their way to the county seat. The location remained mainly rural until the mid 1980’s when construction brought in more homes. |

Current Owner Reportings: + The shadowy shape of a man, about 6 ft tall, solid gray in appearance which seems like it just watches. It has no features and is only about 2 ft wide + Female homeowner felt uncomfortable from the first time she stepped into the house but thought the home would feel more comfortable after it was remodeled and their belongings were there. + Icky feeling of being watched + Female homeowner awoke once to see two lights hovering near the ceiling in corner of the living room. One was a bright red and the other was a dim white. + Sounds of walking in the hallway witnessed by several family members and family dog. + Dog growling for no apparent reason. + Sounds heard in the basement which were thought to be a prowler. Both husband and wife got up to investigate but found nothing. + Young son has come into parents bedroom claiming that a man had scared him and then refused to return to his own room. He has also claimed that "The choo-choo" scared him. There are no railroad tracks near the home. + Female homeowner and children were once locked in her bedroom. + Pet hamster has been let out of cage on several occasions by unknown source. + Lights dimming and motion detectors coming on with no explanation. Circuit breakers are constantly being tripped. + The homeowners have always had problems maintaining even temperatures throughout the house. The house has always felt cold in certain spots. |

Reported Findings and Experiences: + 4 EVPs were captured just after the MPR team arrived. All 4 EVPs were very clear. One EVP was a male voice saying "There She Is With Jesus". Upon sharing this comment with Joyce, she explained that she had said some extra prayers before arriving at the home because she had been contacted the night before by a man named Lynn who had told her that he was ready to leave. Another EVP of a male voice was captured saying, "Get Off The Wagon". During the clearing, Joyce stated that a man with a wagon had arrived to come into the circle. The other 2 EVPs were of female voices that sound like the same woman. One EVP says, "Maria" and the other says "Believe Us". All 4 EVPs were captured within the first 15 minutes of the team’s arrival. No additional EVPs were recorded during the remainder of the investigation. + During Joyce’s reading in the basement, the female homeowner became unnerved when she felt something brush up against her leg. Joyce explained that this was a spirit dog. The female homeowner was shaken by this encounter and went back upstairs. Since the investigation, the owner reports that her daughter had asked if this could have been the dog they once owned. The owner contacted Joyce and asked her to describe the dog. Joyce described the dog as light colored with light spots and had scrappy looking hair. Owner reports that this was the exact description of the dog and the only way you could see her spots was when the dog was shaved. The owner also reported that the dog always jumped up on her leg. Unfortunately, the dog was killed by a car a couple years ago. + 21 orbs were captured on video during Joyce’s reading in the basement and 4 more orbs were captured on video in the garage. This occurred during 20 minutes of filming. |

Psychic Readings: + Before arriving at the investigation, Joyce had been contacted by a man who called himself Lynn. He was a young man who claimed that he was killed in an accident either near the home or else the male homeowner had taken care of the accident and this man followed him home. (The male homeowner’s occupation includes emergency response.) The man stated that he was ready to leave and would assist in helping the other spirits also in the home. He is about 5’11" and his name is either Lynn, Lyndell or Linden. + Lots of traffic flowing through the house. + A cemetery is nearby which contains tombstones. One man is upset because his marker has fallen over. This is an old, old cemetery which used to have a railed fence around it. It is either a family cemetery or a cemetery that contains the bodies of epidemic victims. Some names there are Catherine, a man named Bell or Bellwell (something that contains the name Bell in it), someone named Charles whom they called C. W., some surnames are Westfall, Campfield or Campwell, Lock or Portlock (something that contains the name Lock). One of the male graves says that they were born in 1804 and died in 1862 or 1863. This is the man who is upset. His wife is buried beside him and her name is either Arnetta or Annetta and they called her Nettie. She died before her husband and she was born in 1810. Many animals died during the time that these people were buried and they feared an epidemic. Nettie was an elderly woman who had thin white hair which she wore pulled straight back, a very thin face with a broad forehead and high cheek bones. She has a Native American look to her. She was bedfast and died in bed. She was cared for by a man named Harry Wilcox. During an investigation a couple of years ago, Joyce revealed a cemetery located on that property, very near where the current investigation took place. During that investigation she also came up with the name Lock. The cemetery found on the other property at one time contained a rod-iron railed fence. This cemetery was obliterated during the early 1900’s. Some of the bodies were moved to other cemeteries but others only had their tombstones relocated. One of the past owners of the land was a man named Charles whose last name is very similar to one of the surnames listed above. It is known that this Charles and his family were at one time buried in the cemetery mentioned above. It is also known that his tombstone, his wife’s and two of their children were moved to another cemetery, however, when these graves were located, grave dowsing showed that no bodies accompanied the stones. + Does not feel any anger of any kind other than the man who is upset about his marker. + There is a man with a beard who has only one tooth and wears a hat slouched on his head. He carries of jug of whiskey which he claims he got at a trading post southeast of here which is probably his moonshine connection. His chews tobacco and his whiskers are stained yellow from the tobacco juice. The top part of his ear is gone. He says this happened during a brawl when someone tried to take his whiskey. |

Clearing: A clearing was performed by the investigation team and the homeowners. During the clearing a man arrived in a wagon and wanted to come into the light. An EVP had been captured earlier in the investigation of a man saying "Get Off The Wagon". At last report from homeowners, they have experienced no more problems and everything seems to be peaceful. Also, the temperature of the house seems to be warmer and easier to maintain. |
