Brief Home and Property Description:

The house is a 2-story home built around 1904, located in the Westport area

and is in the process of remodeling by current occupants.

History:

This particular piece of property sits in the Westport area, right near what

used to be the Old Santa Fe Trail. The wagon trains that sometimes numbered

200 strong in a single train passed nearby where this home now sits. Not

everyone who headed west was able to complete the journey. Sometimes, due

to sickness or other hardships, they would be forced to stay behind as the rest of

the wagon train continued on. There were two cholera epidemics that left a

high death toll in its wake.

Due to accidents, violence or sickness there were a large number of immigrants

that died and were buried along the trail. Graves were marked by rocks, a single

wooden cross or some other simple means that in time fell to the wayside, leaving

that grave eventually known to no one.

The earliest records on this property date back to the 1850 census and an early

1800's Plat map when it was listed as part of an original 80-acre tract

that was owned by a very prominent and wealthy merchant and businessman.

A record of this man's will shows he left part of his assets to two little girls

living with him that were part Delaware Indian.

There was a strong and prosperous Indian trade existing in Westport in the early

years. The Indians primarily trading in Westport and around the location of this

home were the Shawnee, Delawares, Wyandottes, Kickapoos, Pottawatomies,

Kansas, Osages, Foxes, Miamis and Ottawas as well as numerous smaller tribes.

The Westport area was ridden with conflict during the Civil War. The people were

exposed to the Union and Confederate presence as well as bushwhackers and being

inundated with immigrants headed west. The beginning of the end for the

Confederates was right in the Westport area. Grossly outnumbered, they waged a

desperate and fierce battle with the Union that was later to be called "Little

Gettysburg." After which the stench of death and smoke hung thick in the air.

Beaten, the Confederates were forced to flee, leaving their wounded and dead

behind. The good people of Westport and the Union soldiers went about their

business of burying all the dead.

As was common to the times of the early growing settlements, Westport experienced

many, many tragic and violent deaths. In addition to natural causes, people died

from sickness, from battles, skirmishes and from accidents. How many of those died

with unfinished business? How many left behind family they had not seen for a very

long time? How many died alone? How many died in fear? How many parents

buried their children? At times the grief that reigned over the area must have been

profound.

This home has seen countless families come and go. It has undoubtedly seen births,

deaths, and everything in-between. It has seen sorrow of life and it has seen joys

in life. It's walls have vibrated with the laughter of children and heard the cries

of someone's loss. It has survived two fires and the wear and tear of time. This home

has been filled with the smells and heat of wood burning stoves. The aromas of

homemade bread and meals have permeated throughout it's rooms and halls. This

was a home that has been filled with life. The is a home with a story to tell.

Current Owner Reportings:

· Guest and Co-worker, Teresa, reported seeing the apparition of a man in the kitchen

a man in the kitchen area, thinking it was the owner, she called to

him and found that he was upstairs at the time of the sighting.

· An occupant of the home reported hearing slapping sounds downstairs

· Current owner thought that he heard someone call his name

· Bathroom light has turned on twice by itself after being turned off.

Reported Findings and Experiences:

· Team member Brenda witnessed the bathroom shower curtain billow out,

as if someone was hiding behind it. After a search for any natural air

disturbances, none was found. A photograph taken just before entering

the bathroom shows white light emitting from the shower curtain area

to outside and above the woodwork surrounding the bathroom door.

Further analyses of this photo is pending.

· Upon entering the wine cellar, team member, Joyce, felt a heavy presence

and asked all team members and occupants to report what they felt. Most

reported a tingling sensation near the back of the wine cellar.

· This investigation was reported live on FM radio station, 97.7 KY. During

the live broadcast, the sound equipment had technical difficulties. The

sound engineer reported that the frequency had been changed but could

offer no explanation for the cause.

· Photos of orbs were captured throughout the house and outside. During the

live broadcast, orbs were captured in numerous photos hovering about the

DJ's and radio equipment.

· Slacker experienced trouble with lights in his garage when the investigation

team was present. He said that he had never had problems with these lights

before. He checked the fuse box and found no blown fuses.

· 8 EVP's were recorded. All of these were captured in the living/dining room

during conversation among occupants and/or team members. Another EVP was

captured during the time that our psychic was in a trance. She claimed to be

riding with "Bloody Bill Anderson's" men and was trying to identify some

names. A whispery voice in the background gives the name of "Randolph".

Research indicates that a man named Park Randolph was a guerilla soldier

who often rode with Quantrill and Bloody Bill Anderson.

Psychic Reading:

· Detected fire that only burnt a partial part of the house in 1926.

Another fire occurred in the 1930's. She saw a rock basement and a big

potbelly stove in basement. The stove was responsible for one of the fires

that had occurred in the home.

· A child died of whooping cough in the house. She was under the care of a

Doctor by the name of Hendrix or Kendrix who lived a few blocks away.

· A German family by the name of Guthrie, Guther or something similar to

that lived in the house at one time. The first name of the man was William.

· The spirit in the kitchen is upset over the remodeling but it will be all right

with him when it's completed. This man walks with a limp. His name begins

with the letter H, such as in Henry, but it's not Henry. Slacker later presented

a tax receipt that he had found in the wall while remodeling. The name on the

receipt was Herman Trieb, a former occupant of the home.

· Detected a female spirit upstairs whose voice is the one who calls Slacker's

name. She moves around upstairs and hums an old hymn. She had

arthritis and became ill but died downstairs, This happened in another

house that was on the property before the current house was built.

· Before current house was built, the property was located near a wagon trail,

a wagon pulled off of the trail and set up camp on the property because of

sickness on this wagon. They came across the Mississippi River, somewhere

from the east. The man's name was William Hennesy or Hannesy, his wife

was called Etta or Edie but that was not her full first name. They had four

young children. The wagon was pulled by six horses instead of oxen and had

a smaller wagon that it was towing behind. The smaller wagon carried the

wares of the man's trade, who was a blacksmith. This occurred around 1818

and they stayed there through the winter, there was a heavy snow that year.

She did not detect any deaths associated with this wagon train.

· She detected a man that sits around a wood stove in the basement. His wife

was a tall, heavy-set woman who died in the house but is not earthbound to

it. The man had a dark complexion but was not black, he had gray hair and

died of pneumonia. His name was Mark Grey or Greyson.

· She saw white military tents around the area but not camped on the property.

She said it was a Union encampment to the south with 2500 or more union

soldiers.

· Detected a spirit of a cat or dog in the house, unsure of which, but feels that

it might be a female cat.

· The strongest vibrations detected were in the northeast corner of the basement,

vibrations of many spirits were here. She felt the wine cellar was the nest-egg

of the spirit gathering. She picked up the spirit of a man hiding in this area after

murdering someone. He had been shot and had a hole in the right side of his

chest. This man was one of "Bloody Bill Anderson's" men.

· She detected a man was buried at the back of the property in the early 1800's.

· Detected gold coins hidden in the walls of the home. Slacker said that he was

putting new pennies dated 2001 in the walls as he was remodeling. She thought

this was probably what she was picking up.

· She kept picking up an eagle that was associated with Slacker but could not

pinpoint why it kept showing up around him. Later, Slacker remembered that

his grandfather was an honored Eagle Scout.

· Several deaths in the house, but gave no other details than those previously

mentioned. Picked up the spirit of a man hiding in this area after murdering

someone.  He had been shot and had a hole in the right side of his chest. This

man was one of "Bloody Bill Anderson's" men.

· After going into a trance, she began to identify the locations of several buildings

that were once located near the property; the school about 6 blocks away and a

hospital near it. There was also a store that had everything in it. It was constructed

of wooden log planks. She also claimed that she was riding with some of "Bloody

Bill Anderson's" men.
